Unleash your potential
My path has been anything but traditional. Before I started college, I worked for a short time as a seaman in the merchant marine. That experience convinced me I’d better do well in college, or my options would be limited.
Life’s surprised me. More than once.
I studied Psychology at San Francisco State University, with plans to become a clinical psychologist.
After graduating, I surprised myself by auditioning and being accepted for the American Conservatory Theatre’s professional training program.
I moved to New York, continued studying, and began working as an actor in theatre and television, which I did for nearly twenty years.
The next surprise? I found myself pursuing a graduate degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley Extension. It was there I discovered my love of and gift for coaching, which sent my life in another unexpected direction.
It was quickly clear to me that my interest and aptitude for coaching far outstripped what I would have to offer as a Landscape Architect. I saw that I had a facility for assessing where an individual or a team was, where they wanted to go, and how to get them there quickly. I’ve worked with individuals, leaders, and teams for more than twenty years, and I’ve never gotten tired of helping people move beyond what they initially believed to be their limitations.
Several years ago, I happened upon the simplest, most elegant explanation of how humans can be consistently at their best. My work with individuals and organizations is based on this understanding, which allows humans to use their brains — intellect, logic, reasoning — as they were designed to be used. Life is easier when you know that everything is possible, when you’re tapped into limitless possibilities.
I’m a Certified Transformative Coach through Michael Neill’s Supercoach Academy.
