Evil. Is There Such a Thing as Pure Evil?

Is There Such a Thing as Pure Evil?

When I look at what seems to be going on in the world, it can be dispiriting to see how we treat and regard one another. That dispirited feeling can lead me to attach the word “evil” to people, organizations, even countries. What I’ve been able to see recently has given me an entirely different take on the subject of evil.

In the past, trying to make sense of the “why” around what appears to be evil led me nowhere. In other words, I couldn’t come to any sort of reconciliation as to the reasons people would behave like that. It was only after I started to understand the fundamental nature of conscious awareness that I started to see what was really going on.

The universe is brought to life by consciousness. The nature of that conscious awareness is love. You’re made of it, I’m made of it, everyone and everything are made of it. Love is the basic building block of the universe, and as such is the animating force behind every vibration in the universe.

That’s why it’s so powerful. We’ve been taught to believe evil is the opposite of love, but if everything has love as its fundamental essence, how can love have an opposite?

Understand, I’m not being metaphorical or casual in this description. Everything you can see, touch, experience, or even think about has love as its fundamental element. Love can’t be removed from the equation.

But that love can be veiled by fear, and appear as what we might think of as evil.

Here’s where it gets tricky. When I see a person, or a group, or a particular behavior appearing as evil, without realizing I’m doing it, by judging the person, or situation as evil, what I’m really doing is veiling the love I’m made of. That makes it impossible for me to feel that love, which makes it impossible for me to see through the eyes of love.

That’s where the dispiriting feeling comes in; not from what I think I see, but from the eyes I’m looking through. Though everything is made of love, when that love is veiled, it can take on the appearance of evil.

Is there such a thing as pure evil

Seeing this clearly allows me to bring compassion and understanding to the situation, which enables me to deal with it from a place of love. If the universe is made of love, how can everything in it be anything other than sacred? And if it’s all sacred, how can it be evil?

We all have two sets of eyes, the eyes of love, and the eyes of fear and judgment. Which would you rather look through?

I have design a class called “Showing up As Love“. As I am writing this, a new group is starting soon. Please visit this link to learn more and join me.
