Showing Up as Love
The lovely feeling of coming home after a long absence is one that most of us are familiar with. Assuming you find your home to be a safe haven where you’re completely comfortable when you come home, there’s a wonderful feeling of settling down, of coming back to yourself.

Coming home as we’re talking about here isn’t about physically returning to where you live.
Coming home as we’re talking about here isn’t about physically returning to where you live. It’s about returning to the deepest part of you, the part of you that allows you to be at your best. Your mind relaxes, you’re able to think more clearly, it’s easy to make the right decision, and you’re able to operate beyond your own personal psychology.
When you come from this deepest place, what you’re really doing is showing up as love. I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t familiar with this feeling, even if they haven’t felt it for a long time. I’ve also never met anyone who didn’t love coming from this part of themselves.

It’s not hard to figure out why people like coming from this place: showing up as love is coming home to your true nature, and we always feel better when feeling at home in ourselves.
There’s no tension, no stress, no feeling that something is missing. How often do you get to enjoy this feeling? If you’re like most people, probably not as often as you’d like.
What is it that keeps us from showing up as love all the time?
What is it that keeps us from showing up as love all the time? It’s tempting to think that the ability to show up as love is contained in the circumstances of our lives and that unless the right circumstances are in place, we can’t possibly hope to show up as love.
For some time now, I’ve noticed that showing up as love is an option that’s always open to me, regardless of circumstances. Having that option always within reach, regardless of what might be happening in my life is a little like telling someone who loves the feeling of warm sun on their skin that they can bask in the sun anytime they want, day or night, rain or shine.

It’s been that dramatic in my life. Life has presented me with any number of wonderful surprises, but I can honestly say that knowing this power is contained within me, not in my surroundings or circumstances, is the biggest, most wonderful surprise I’ve ever experienced. And to think that I, like every other human, have always had it!
When I show up as love, love does the heavy lifting, so I don’t have to.
When I started to show up as love more of the time, I was amazed at how easily and smoothly I was able to deal with what I might have previously imagined as intractable problems. The reason for this is simple. When I show up as love, love does the heavy lifting, so I don’t have to. Showing up as love makes my life feel effortless in a way that I couldn’t have imagined.
I get more done, I’m calmer, my mind feels clear more of the time, and all my relationships are better. Not a bad list of benefits, is it?
Would you like to have love do the heavy lifting in your life?
