Streaming Love

Streaming Love

We live in the age of streaming, where the ability to watch almost anything anytime we want is available to us. Many of us have streaming services we pay for, but never watch.

What if there were a streaming service we were born with?

And what if this streaming service gave you more satisfaction and connection to the bigger world than anything you could watch on a video screen?

The most enjoyable, rewarding streaming service is one that we all have built into us, but that most of us don’t know about. This mystery streaming service is the human ability to stream love.

People who know they have this streaming service depend on it to navigate their daily lives.

It never lets them down and doesn’t ever become inaccessible when the system goes down, the way other streaming services do. The reason for that is because the system it runs on is human nature.

The nature of human consciousness, before we think ourselves away from it, is love. If you’d like proof, it’s easy to see and feel this nature. If you’re around a very young child, it’s almost impossible not to see it.

When you’re relaxed, without much on your mind, it’s impossible not to feel it.

Certain people never seem to lose sight of this ability, but the truth is, though we can lose sight of it, none of us can actually lose it.

When something can’t be taken away from us, we call it essential. In other words, without it, we wouldn’t exist. To call love essential to us suggests a distance between us and love, as though we could be separated. A more direct way to say it might be this; love is our essence. We are love in human form.

Now the model of a streaming service makes more sense. On-Demand Love, that’s what it is, and that’s what you are. When you come from this deepest part of you, you’re at your best, and life seems simple and beautiful. When you forget about this deepest part of you, which happens the instant you get too caught up in your own thinking, life seems complicated and hard.

When that happens, your essential nature hasn’t changed.

Remember, your essence can’t change. All that’s happened is the love you’re made of has been veiled by your own thinking.

Funny how we can think ourselves away from own true nature, isn’t it? Funnier (and more lovely) is our ability to feel our way back to that nature. And when we do, we discover it’s as fresh and brand new as ever.

Our true nature can be felt, but the instant we try to understand it (i.e., think our way toward it) we lose sight of it.

While we can feel our essence, when we attempt to translate that feeling into words, we’re dealing with a concept. Your true nature is too big, too vast, too all-encompassing to be contained in a concept. Thoughts, and the words that accompany them, simply aren’t up to the task.

Next time you recognize that you’ve thought yourself away from your true nature, just let your mind wind down. That’s all you have to do, and your mind was designed to do just that. I’m often reminded that feeling my true nature is infinitely more satisfying than thinking about it.
